The Southeast Europe Transatlantic Economic Forum begins in Washington

WASHINGTON (United States of America), May 20, 2024 – The Transatlantic Leadership Network and the Europe Center of the Atlantic Council from Washington, in cooperation with the Institute for Politics and Economy of Southeast Europe from Belgrade, are organizing the “Southeast Europe Transatlantic Economic Forum” conference, which will be held today and tomorrow, May 20 and 21, 2024 in the US Congress in Washington.

The Institute for Politics and Economy of Southeast Europe will be represented in Washington by Mr. Zoran Korać, Director and Mr. Dusan Žarković, Executive Director.

“This Forum represents a significant step in strengthening the regulatory framework and laying the foundations for the improvement of economic cooperation between the United States and the countries of Southeastern Europe,” Korać pointed out.

He pointed out that a large number of bilateral meetings will be held on the margins of the Forum, centering on strengthening cooperation between the USA and the countries of the Western Balkan region.

The Forum will include high-level panel discussions focused on key aspects of regional cooperation and development, such as overcoming barriers to trade promotion, the energy potential of the region, an independent judiciary and the fight against corruption, digitization and the development of the financial sector.

During the Forum, heads of chambers of commerce from the region, including the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, will sign a Memorandum on Strengthening Transatlantic Cooperation in the Field of Tourism between the countries of the Western Balkans and the United States of America.
