Korać visiting the Peres center for peace and innovation in Tel Aviv

The Founder and Director of the Institute for Politics and Economy of Southeast Europe (IPESE), Zoran Korać, visited the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation in Tel Aviv, emphasizing the Institute’s commitment to further connection and deepening of cooperation with Israeli partners in the field of innovation and startup entrepreneurship.

During the conversation with the Executive Director of the Peres Center, Mrs. Jona Bartal, Korać pointed out that one of the goals of the Institute is shaping public policies that will contribute to the creation of an environment favorable for the development of innovations as an instrument for establishing cooperation and lasting peace and stability in the Balkan region.

“The development of innovations and their application in people’s everyday life opens up new perspectives for cooperation of young people in the Balkans. We want to use the Peres Center model to promote peace and cooperation through innovation, thus ensuring that the future of the region is based on prosperity and growth,” Korac said.

Korac emphasized the Institute’s commitment to the vision of Shimon Peres to influence the peace process among ordinary people in the Middle East through projects in the fields of culture, sports, economy and innovation. “There are many similarities between the Serbian and Jewish people, as well as similarities between the regions where our countries are located. Those regions are burdened by conflicts in the past. The only way to overcome the conflicts of the past is to jointly create new values and build a safe and prosperous future for our young people,” said Korać.

During his visit to the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation, Korać visited the exhibition of the best Israeli startups, where the most modern ideas and technologies in the fields of industry, food production, medicine, urban mobility, environmental protection were presented.

The Peres Center for Peace and Innovation was founded in 1996 by President Shimon Peres, the Former President of Israel. This center develops and implements unique and innovative programs in the fields of innovation, sports, leadership development and entrepreneurship, health, business and environmental protection.

These programs serve hundreds of thousands of users of all ages, religions and genders, and are implemented through a network of local, regional and international partners.
